Avoid using a pesticide that is likely to leach. Pesticides such as those shown with a high potential for leaching are more likely to contaminate groundwater. Check the pesticide label for any warnings about its potential to leach to groundwater. In addition, your Cooperative Extension Service or EPA can provide information on the leaching potential of different pesticides.
